100 Running Songs

It’s the new year and everyone is making their new year’s resolution for 2012. And obviously the top new year’s resolutions are always to exercise more and lose weight. Well, I’ve compiled a list of 100 songs to run to. These songs have great beats to help make your workouts a little more enjoyable.

It’s perfect if you make a playlist on your iPod titled “Running Songs” so you can just leave it on shuffle as you run. I’ve attached links to the songs that direct you to Youtube.

I tried to get a variety of songs to suit different people. Old and new songs, hip-hop and alternative, for men and for women, etc. I encourage you to listen to a song or two that you’ve never heard of. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find your new favorite song to run to (you can never have too many.) Happy running!

    • the lyrics totally crack me up too – I can’t help but to think about my crazy college days of drinking and smoking cigarettes and how they contrast to my running around a park, being a mom and doing healthy things now.

  44. I know country doesn’t exactly sound like work-out music, but I was surprised while running when I listened to Barefoot and Crazy by Jack Ingram. Some of those rowdy songs get you going just as much as Rihanna

  74. Bruno Mars’s “Runaway Baby” always gets/keeps me running. My favorite band to run to is Rise Against (Satellite, Savior, Paper Wings, Life Less Frightening, Prayer of the Refugee, etc.). There are a few great fast-paced running songs on the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack (Jai Ho and O…Saya are my favorites, plus M.I.A.’s Paper Planes).

  132. I listened to all 100 and out of those only 13 could possibly work for my runs and or when I work out. A lot of the songs on your list I would listen to but not run or workout to. I enjoy really fast paced music with little down time in between because if it starts to slow down then I will slow down or possibly even stop I need music that makes me push through. I also don’t limit myself to music in English because when I run I just focus on the beat so it doesn’t matter if I can understand the language or not. Give these songs a listen you never know you may end up adding one to your running playlist. Also people should try looking for music outside of what they think they like you’d be surprised what you like once you stop limiting yourself to one genre.
